VU ISA AGM 2021

We warmly invite all members to the VU ISA annual general meeting 2021

Nominees list (To be published after nomination closing on the 22/10/2021 9.00 amAEST).

If you wish to exercise your voting rights for the 2022 nominees you should be present at the AGM 2021, if more than one nominee is presented for a given position, the position will be up for voting so your attendance is vital.

Please complete a Voting registration form prior to the AGM to receive attendance details and voting information.

Positions up for nominations and voting,

PRESIDENT - The official spokesperson for the VU ISA,

  • Have the discretion to call Victoria University International Student Association Annual General Meeting (VU ISA AGM), Special General Meetings (VU ISA SGM), and VU ISA committee meetings as he/she deems appropriate;

  • Chair the meetings of the VU ISA and have a casting vote in addition to a deliberative vote;

  • Liaise with other not-for-profit, peak international student representative bodies.

  • Responsible for the overall supervision of the operations of the VU ISA and have the discretion to delegate this supervisory function to any VU ISA member as required or needed;

  • Have absolute authority to delegate the duties of executives and associated committee members;

  • Work closely with executive committee members.   

  • Approve budgetary expenditure and payment.

  • Responsible for informing the appropriate staff of the Association’s operations;

  • Have final make-decision power.

    GENERAL SECRETARY

  • Responsible for the Meeting Agenda, Minutes and correspondence of the VU ISA;

  • Responsible for organizing all kinds of meeting times, dates, and venues;

  • Responsible for assisting the President in his general duties as needed;

  • Responsible for clearing the Association’s mail, email, and messages;

  • Responsible for the preparation and final version of the Annual General Report.

     

    VICE-PRESIDENT 

  • Assumes the duties and responsibilities of the President in his/her absence;

  • Liaise closely with all branches of VU ISA.

    TREASURER

  • Responsible for maintaining an accurate account of all financial matters and regularly reporting to the committee on the state of the budget;

  • Responsible for maintaining the VU ISA revenues, petty cash and records, and receipts associated with it;

  • Prepare an Annual Financial Report as part of the Annual General Report;

  • Approve payment for expenditure committed in accordance with the VU ISA budget.

  • Prepare a budget for all costs involved in marketing activities.

    EDUCATION & WELFARE OFFICER 

  • Responsible for running education-related programs;

  • Responsible for promoting transparency and fairness in academic evaluation and justice in special consideration and appeal cases;

  • Responsible for conducting surveys and other means to evaluate and improve the quality of social and academic life;

  • Liaise with Administration Branch conducting feedback from all events through written surveys and other means;

  • Liaise with Activity and Event Branch conducting feedback from events if required through written surveys and other means.

    ACTIVITIES OFFICER

  • Responsible for all social and cultural activities carried out by the association;

  • Liaise with the Treasurer for payment of the activities;

  • Drafting an activity calendar every semester of the various activities to be carried out by the Association;

  • Liaise with Welfare and Education Branch conducting feedback from all events through written surveys and other means;

  • Responsible for reporting to the executive committee on the progress and results of activities carried out by the association.

    DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL MEDIA & MARKETING

  •  Responsible for all VU ISA social media platforms i.e.: Facebook, Instagram, etc.

  • Responsible for posters, billboards;

  • Liaise with the administration branch for making and collecting and maintaining all video and photo activities materials;

  • Responsible for running promotional campaigns by setting up marquees as required.

    DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATION & PUBLIC RELATIONS

  • The main point of contact for all affiliate relationships with VU International Club and Society;

  • Manage affiliate relations, communication and recruit other VU International Club and Society;

  • Attend all relevant affiliate activities to develop relationships with affiliates;

  • Monitor affiliate activity and performance and recommend ways to increase affiliate benefits.

  • Responsible for all sponsorship for the association;

  • Responsible for recruiting all general volunteers for certain events;

  • Responsible for recruiting VU ISA new associated committee members by running VU ISA committee interviews;

  • Prepare all equipment and all other required materials for carrying out activities;

  • Liaise with other departments, clubs, associations, staff, and others as required.

  • Responsible for VU ISA official web page content creation and Maintainance and member correspondence

**We regret to inform you that due to the prevailing situation ISA team decided to cancel the trip to Philip Island. A full refund will be made to those who brought tickets along with a token of appreciation for bearing with us. We are heading to Philip Island on the 29th of July with special guests Maorani Guy (President & founder VicWISE) and Nicole Melder (Senior counselor - Student life & Wellbeing) to explore maze 'n' things, the koala animal park, a Chocolate Factory and much more.

In Celebration of Multicultural week VU ISA presents Share your culture

It's time to show your culture off !!!
Have you ever wanted to represent or promote your culture in Australia? We have got you sorted! Join our Multicultural competition to showcase any of your talent (Singing, Dancing, Cooking, Artwork, Photo, etc.) that best represents your culture and tell us about it in a short paragraph.

Submissions close on Sunday 19 September 2021 at 5 PM. All participants get a $10 voucher upon successful submission of their cultures.

The winners will be announced on the VU ISA Facebook page on Friday 24 September at 5 PM and will be chosen by a panel consisting of VU staff members and social media responses. Terms and conditions apply.
